Congratulations to Peter and Marion Black of the Blackdale Coopworth Stud in Riverton, Southland who won the “Primary Wool Co-operative Dual Purpose for Wool” award at the Beef & Lamb NZ Sheep Industry awards presented in Napier this week.
The Beef + Lamb New Zealand Sheep Industry Awards are an annual showcase for sheep farming excellence. The third annual awards ceremony was held at the Napier War Memorial Conference Centre, the first North Island venue, on 6 August 2014.
The award categories covered genetics, production and business innovation.
The top sheep breeders were drawn from the Sheep Improvement Ltd (SIL) database and another five industry awards were made to publicly nominated individuals or businesses, assessed by a panel of sheep industry experts.
Primary Wool Co-operative would also like to commend the other nominees for their continued excellence and commitment to producing quality product in the wool industry.
